About

I have a Master's degree in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a B. Mus. from London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Having moved here from the Midwest, I held tenure for a decade in the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra and was a regular performer in the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. I currently perform in the symphonies of in Tacoma, Auburn and Federal Way, and I teach privately at my condo in downtown Des Moines and at the Kirkland Academy of Music and Performance.

Music

I have performed, or am willing to learn, any of the "warhorses." I have a special fondness for all the unaccompanied solo Bach sonatas and partitas, as well as all the classic gems for violin and piano. I have performed, in recital, the 1st, 7th and 8th Beethoven violin-piano sonatas. My past recital repertoire includes the Bach d minor Chaconne, the violin-piano sonata by Caesar Frank, both violin-piano sonatas by Prokofiev, and violin showpieces with piano accompaniment, such as Wieniawski's Scherzo Tarentelle and D major Polonaise.

I have a piano trio called Illumina. We currently have Brahms, Clara Schumann, and Beethoven trios in our repertoire, as well as Brahms Hungarian and Dvorak Slavonic Dances. I am interested in Illumina performing at Groupmuse.
