Saro Babikian is an award winning guitarist based in LA. He was born to Armenian parents in Damascus, Syria in 1995. Saro appeared in major concert halls such as the prestigious Carnegie Hall (NY), Damascus Opera House, Komitas Chamber Music House in Yerevan and others. Saro is a multiple award winner in various competitions such as the G&O Andriassian Guitar Competition, Sierra Nevada Guitar Competition and others. Saro appeared as a guest soloist with Port Townsend Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Tigran Arakelyan in 2018. In 2017 he was invited to perform at the 3rd Yerevan International Guitar Festival.
Saro holds a degree of Bachelors of Music from the University Of Southern California Thornton School Of Music under the instruction of Scott Tennant, William Kanengiser and Brian Head. Currently, he is perusing his Master’s degree at USC Thornton. Saro is an active educator, guitarist in the Los Angeles area and a member of “–ian Guitar Duo”.

I play a variety of classical repertoire ranging from baroque to modern. My program includes works by Scarlatti, Bach, Barrios, Dyens, Pujol, Brouwer, ALbeniz, Komitas and original compositions.
