About

We are Ledah Finck (violin, viola) and Louna Dekker-Vargas (flutes), a duo that works with living composers, adapts old repertoire, writes our own music, improvises, sings, and adapts performances to the space we are in. We met at the Peabody Conservatory in 2015, and have performed around Baltimore, DC, and are expanding to NYC, in a wide variety of venues. Our mentors include Michael Formanek, Courtney Orlando, and David Smooke as well as our private instructors Marina Piccinini (flute), Herbert Greenberg (violin), and Oscar Bettison (composition).

We enjoy tailoring our performances to each space where they take place, and interacting with our audiences. We are particularly experienced with salon style living room concerts, having performed many in Baltimore, and conducted a research/commissions project called Behind the Curtain, exploring women's roles in salon culture. The recordings of this project will be released on October 20th on Bandcamp.
