Elizabeth Hill

Pianist, Elizabeth G. Hill is an accomplished soloist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist, and educator. A devoted supporter of new music, Elizabeth’s work in contemporary music ranges from solo to chamber and large ensemble performances, including John Hilliard’s Piano Concerto No. 2, the premiere of the solo piano cycle “Mosaics” by Tim Rumsey, and performances for the Capital Fringe Festival in Washington, DC. Elizabeth is the Principal Pianist with Baltimore-based chamber orchestra, Symphony Number One, an ensemble dedicated to promoting substantial works by emerging composers. She earned the Doctorate in Musical Arts (DMA) in Chamber Music at The Catholic University of America.

Some of my most recently performed solo piano works include:

English Suite No. 2, A minor, BWV 807 (J. S. Bach)
Excursions, op. 20 (S. Barber)
Piano Sonata, Op. 27, No. 1 (L. van Beethoven)
Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24 (J. Brahms)
Ballade no. 4 in F minor, op. 52 (F. Chopin)
Fantasia on an Ostinato (J. Corigliano)
Three Preludes (G. Gershwin)
In the Mists (L. Janáček)
Das Jahr (F. Mendelssohn-Hensel)
Etudes-Tableaux, works from op. 33 and 39 (S. Rachmaninoff)

I especially love to perform chamber music, and have recently collaborated on chamber works by
