She is a prize winner of many competitions, such as Quick Bowman (2017), Atwater Kent (2017), Antelope Valley (2013), Pyrenees (2012), and the OCSA concerto competition (2008-9).

Her performance career includes solo and chamber recitals at many quintessential performance halls of the West Coast, such as the Segerstrom Hall, Royce Hall, Los Angeles Museum of Holocaust, Hammer Museum, J. Paul Getty Museum, LACMA Bing Theater, Aspen Physics Center, Maybeck Performing Arts Center, and Schoenberg Hall (UCLA).

​Rosalind's 2017 dissertation is titled, "Piano Performance and Musical Symbolism: Interpretive Freedom through Understanding Symbolist Aesthetics", which is a cross-disciplinary paper on performance aesthetics, art theories, musical hermeneutics, and music history. Her passion for expanding artistic thought culminated in her latest composition "Quixotic Q" (May 2017), which is scored for tape and improvised piano. "Quixotic Q" comments on the musical work's identity, illuminating the ipse and the idem existence of a musical work through the fixed or concrete tape and the live improvisation that orients the audience's perception of the tape. Each performance of this piece is explicitly unique. Her next premiere is a solo bassoon piece, "Cosmic Twin", which uses music as a metaphor for quantum physics' understanding of multiverses.

​Rosalind received her doctorate in 2017 from the University of California, Los Angeles, under the tutelage of Inna Faliks. Prior to her graduate studies, she studied with Walter Ponce and Lorna Griffitt. Along with her education, summer festivals such as Aspen AMFS provided Rosalind with many opportunities to work with maestro-pianists such as Byron Janis, Steven Osborne, Anne Schein, Gilbert Kalish, Rita Sloan, Gloria Chang, and Ingrid Fliter. She has a strong grasp of the piano chamber repertoire, having performed numerous times with the strings faculty at UCLA, as well as residencies and studies with Lynn Harrell, Espen Lilleslaten, and Ellen dePasquale. She has performed multiple concertos with orchestra, including Bartok's third piano concerto, Mozart's last piano concerto, Rachmaninoff's third piano concerto, Grieg's piano concerto, and Shostakovich's first piano concerto for trumpet and strings. Her inner diversity drew her to the accomplishment of triple degrees in the bachelors of arts: music, English, and communication studies. Mona Simpson, Debora Shuger, and James Franco are among her esteemed mentors in literature and creative writing.

Recently she performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto in Bb major, no.27 with the UCLA Philharmonia as the winner of the Atwater Kent Competition. She looks forward to performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2 with Symphony Irvine (November 12th). She is a recipient of the Pi Beta Music Fraternity scholarship, the Mimi Alpert Foreman Scholarship, the Newfield Scholarship, the Gluck Foundation scholarship, the Shirley and Ralph Shapiro Scholarship, the Benno Rubinyi Scholarship, the Ruth C. Plough Scholarship, UC Regents Stipend, and the Herb Alpert School of Music scholarship.

Music

My favorite program consists of pieces by Debussy, Respighi, Liszt, Scriabin, and Mozart. I also love to perform Gershwin, Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Shostakovich, and Chopin.

I do self duets with the melodica, as well as chamber pieces with friends and colleagues on the violin, cello, viola, bassoon, Clarinet, and voice.
