Rose City Trombones is a trombone choir based in Portland, OR. We were founded in 2011 and enjoy performing a wide range of music styles. Our highlight performances include TEDxPortland, the Beijing International Tourism Festival, University of Oregon, and All Classical FM. We perform in ensemble sizes that range from 4 to 14 trombonists. For groupmuse, we focus on our quartet offerings. Our members are some of the most experienced trombone players in the Portland area. We have a reputation for eclectic programming and expanding our audiences musical horizons. Hence our tag line, "The best music you've never heard."
Traditional Repertoire
Rose City Trombones has an extensive music library. Our Groupmuse performances will focus primarily on quartets. Classical performance pieces include: Bach Fugues, Bach Contrapunctus, Beethoven Symphony No. 7, Bizet selections from Carmen, Bruckner Etude, Gabrielli Ricercare, Berlioz selections from Damnation of Faust, Haydn - Achieved is Thy Gloroious Work, Mozart Symphony No. 13 & Fugue, Praetorious - In dulci jubilo, Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet, Saint-Saens Adagio from Symphony No. 3, Tchaikovsky & Wagner. We enjoy modern composers like Eric Whitacre who use classical styles. And we have adaptations of movie themes, jazz and pop music to offer a little something for every listener.
