With a voice that “charms and thrills” soprano Gretchen Anderson has performed across the country in numerous musicals, operas, oratorios and as a featured soloist in several concerts in Rome, Italy. As a sought after performer and “artist of great expression and professional integrity” in recital as well as on stage, Ms. Anderson is a frequent performer of recital work. Some of her favorite operatic roles include Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, produced last year with CSUN, and Micaëla in Carmen. She is excited to sing the role of the mother in Humperdinck's opera Hansel and Gretel here at CSUN in November where she is currently working on her Masters of Music, in Vocal Performance. Ms. Anderson is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships with the most recent being the Dr. Robert W. Wienpahl Scholarship of 2016. A current resident of Los Angeles, California, Ms. Anderson maintains a busy private voice studio. As an award winning performer and instructor, Ms. Anderson’s vocal versatility and creative style keeps her a sought after performer. Ms. Anderson also is a superb performer of musical theatre.
