Evan Price is a classically trained violinist who performs and composes in a wide variety of genres and contexts—from traditional chamber and orchestral music to jazz and fiddling. Best known as a member of the Hot Club of San Francisco and the GRAMMY-winning Turtle Island Quartet, Price has recently embarked on a solo path with the debut of his "Concerto for Jazz Violin and Orchestra" with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and a new CD. His 2017 Azica Records release, "Dialogues," consists of contrapuntal fiddle duets, free-improvisatory "dialogues" with classical guitar, and a unique interpretation of the Bach Partita No. 2 in Dm for Unaccompanied Violin, which he performs with a jazz bassist.
