About

Kira Weiss is a cellist of many stripes. She performs as principal of Eureka Symphony and Humboldt Symphony and in the section of the North State Symphony, and a teaches private and group cello lessons with Humboldt Music Academy. Kira is an avid performer and has won many concerto competitions over the years, soloing with orchestra and served as an orchestral and string quartet fellow with the Britt Festival in Oregon. She also performs with many chamber groups and has participated in workshops around the country. Kira is passionate about the Western art music canon but does not limit herself to it, studying many other traditions from around the world. She is a proud alum of the Armack orchestra.
