About

Born in Melilla, Spain in 1990, Pablo began his studies at the age of six with Enrique Velasco. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, where he studied with both Pedro Leon and Santiago de la Riva. For three years, he also attended the Reina Sofia School of Music, receiving lessons from renowned violinist Marco Rizzi. During this time, in 2011, as a member of the Albeniz Quartet in the studio of Professor Heime Muller, he obtained the Prize for the most outstanding string quartet of the year from the Queen of Spain. Mr. Muñoz has participated in many masterclasses with notable musicians, including Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Yaïr Kless, Nam Yun Kim, Gunter Pichler, Valentin Erben, Yuval Gotlibovich, Noah Bendix-Balgley, Koichiro Harada, and Yo-Yo Ma.

Pablo received his Performer's Diploma at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the supervision of Professor Kevork Mardirossian. He currently studies at the Curtis Institute of Music.

Music

Mostly classical repertoire written for viola throughout the history of western music, not a specific period in particular, as well as an extensive amount of chamber music repertoire, different formations but more prominently, string quartet.

At the moment, I'm focusing on a program on solo viola with an interesting selection of works:

J.S Bach - Cello Suite no. 3 in C major BWV 1009
K. Penderecki - Cadenza, for solo viola
M. Reger - Suite no. 1 in G minor Op. 131d
