About

Soprano ​Tory Wood​ is a native of Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula and has been living and performing in the Washington, D.C. area with her husband, Joseph Arkfeld, since 2015. A lover of opera, theatre, and sacred music, Tory has had the opportunity to perform and tour with chamber ensembles and orchestras such as The Washington Chorus, Opera on Tap, Audivi Vocem, The Michigan Pops Orchestra, and the Pine Mountain Symphony. Upcoming performances for the ‘18-’19 season include ​Tosca​ and ​Faust​ with the Washington National Opera Chorus. After finishing a Bachelor of Music degree from Lawrence University, Tory received a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan. Currently studying with Liz Daniels, Tory can be heard regularly with the St. John’s Choir, Lafayette Square and lives in Silver Spring, MD where she operates a small voice studio.
