About

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a new exciting project - [archipelago]. Together with Danica Borisavljevic on the piano, and Maximillian Tausend on the electronics, we are blurring the line between electronic and chamber music.

Short bio of mine:

“This was a virtuosic performance, but it achieved the often elusive, typically Brahmsian goal of putting virtuosity at the service of bigger ideas, rather than celebrating it for its own sake." (Allan Kozinn, The New York Times)

Nikita holds a Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School, where he studied with Joseph Lin and Lewis Kaplan. Having completed a Bachelor of Music degree at the Université de Montréal, studying with Eleonora Turovsky, Nikita later studied with Mark Steinberg, first violinist of the Brentano String Quartet, during his doctoral studies at the Graduate Center (CUNY). He also worked with violinists Rolf Schulte, Igor Oistrakh, Régis Pasquier, and Mauricio Fuks.

Music

First half of the concert is a meaningful work of the repertoire - Prokofiev, Brahms, Stravinsky, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, etc. (We are currently working on Prokofiev’s First Violin Sonata in f minor ;) )

The second half of the concert: Original live music by [archipelago] (violin, piano, and electronics)
