About

Kathy McDonald performs on baroque flute, classical 8-keyed and modern flute. She has participated in early music festivals including the Academy for Early Music, under the direction of Bach scholar Joshua Rifkin in Brixen-Bressanone, Italy; the St. Olav Festival in Trondheim, Norway and a J.S. Bach festival with Barthold Kuijken in Sopron, Hungary.  She later founded and directed BaroQue Across the River, a chamber music series dedicated to performances on original instruments in historical settings. Alan Kozinn of the NY Times wrote “soprano, Michelle Eaton brought a sumptuous tone, a keen dramatic sense and striking agility in the ornamental vocal scoring. Kathy McDonald contributed the appealing flute obbligato in the Montéclair…”
Kathy performs with her husband, Pasquale Bianculli - their  CD “Hill of Slane” can be found on CD baby.  One track is included here in this profile.
