About

Bay Area guitarist Matthew Fish is a prize-winning soloist, chamber musician, and teacher who specializes in playing music by contemporary composers. Matthew has toured throughout the United States performing for many prestigious concert series and guitar festivals.

Matthew’s debut album, From Her Source to the Sea, features nine world premiere recordings and has received rave reviews from critics. Classical Guitar Magazine said the CD "Sounds like nothing else you have ever heard," and American Record Guide hailed the album as "an exciting discovery!" saying "The music is always played with exquisite taste and complete technical command."

As a chamber musician, Matthew performs in a guitar duo with David Gonzales. The duo's programs span a wide range of repertoire heavily featuring original arrangements for two guitars.

Matthew received his Master’s of Music Degree in 2012 from the SF Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Latin Grammy award-winning guitarist Sergio Assad.
