About

Alan and Branden first began performing together while studying music at Modesto Junior College in California. There they participated in many large and small ensemble settings. After graduating they temporarily split paths which eventually converged to finish Bachelor of Music degrees in guitar performance at McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They again actively performed together in an assortment of chamber music settings as the McNally Smith Guitar Ensemble. Yet again, upon graduation their paths separated again topursue master’s degrees in guitar performance. Alan's journey led him to the University ofSouthern California in Los Angeles, and Branden's to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. They have since reunited once again to form a guitar duo under the title The Nylon Times.

Music

The Nylon Times offers a wealth of spirit and artistry with their engaging and charming programs. Comprised of guitarists Alan Serrano and Branden Cravalho, the duo provides an authentic, enriching, and intimate experience for their audiences. Based in Northern California, the duo actively performs in the Bay Area, Central Valley and neighboring areas. From concert halls to patios, The Nylon Times shares their music with audiences in a number of settings that can fit your musical needs.

Our current repertoire includes music from Domenico Scarlatti, Enrique Granados, Egberto Gismonty, Andrew York, and others as well as solo guitar repertoire.
