About

Award winning soprano Jaimie Lowe is a frequent performer in the Austin and San Antonio areas. She made her Alamo City Opera debut in 2017 as Billie/Dater #28 in Speed Dating Tonight and has performed as a soloist with local groups such as Gilbert and Sullivan Austin, Texas Concert Opera Collective, and LOLA. Recent engagements include the role of Magda Sorel in Menotti’s The Consul with Spotlight on Opera, as well as creating the role of Hilde in the world premiere of Michael Zapruder’s operatic monodrama In Light. Jaimie is passionate about performing new music as well as operatic and art song standards. In May, she premiered Without Permission, a song cycle about her experiences with sexual assault, written in collaboration with pianist and composer Dr. Keenan Boswell. Currently she has several more of her own creative projects in the works. When she is not creating or performing, she guides the next generation of singers through private voice lessons.

Music

Jaimie sings primarily operatic repertoire and art song, usually from the Mid- to late-19th-century on. Typical composers include Puccini, Verdi, Menotti, Britten, Ravel, Wolf, Wagner, Rachmaninoff, Liszt and Strauss. She is also an avid karaoke singer and enjoys singing covers in her spare time. If you're looking for a soprano to collaborate with on an art song or opera recital, someone to sing your original songs, or a singer for your cover band, she's the singer for you!
