Carrie and Szu-Yi combine liquid phrasing and musical sensitivity to interpret the great flute and piano literature.

Carrie Rose is a flutist, composer, and educator. Diverse musical pursuits include freelancing with regional orchestras, grooving for folk dances, unfurling a luscious array of chamber music, and wailing out avant-garde music in the flute collective, inHALE. She produces the Origins Concert Series (a hub for adventurous music-seekers) and has a thriving private flute studio in Takoma Park.

Born in Taiwan, Szu-Yi Li completed her Bachelor’s degree at National Taiwan Normal University, where she was awarded the “Scholarship for Excellence” every semester, in addition to graduating first in her class. Szu-Yi completed two master’s degrees at Temple University. Currently, Szu-Yi is a doctoral student at the University of Maryland. She is the music director of Concord St. Andrews United Methodist Church, and pianist for Kolov HaLev Jewish Choir.
