About

Terpsichore Double Reed Consort is a double reed quartet featuring students, faculty, and alumni of the University of Maryland (Go Terps!). The group formed as a result of Lydia Consilvio’s dissertation project at UMD, performing her arrangements of Bach’s Keyboard Partitas for double reed quartet. The ensemble features Lydia Consilvio on oboe who has played with the Annapolis Symphony and Rochester Chamber Orchestras, Mark Hill who is principal oboe of the National Philharmonic and oboe professor at UMD, Michael Homme who has played with the Baltimore Chamber Players and York Symphony Orchestra, and Joseph Grimmer who is principal bassoon of the Kennedy Center Opera House and Harrisburg Symphony Orchestras and professor at UMD. Members of Terpsichore enjoy playing in beautiful concert halls and humble living rooms alike!

Music

Primarily we play arrangements of Bach's keyboard partitas. We also play solos, duets, and trios with this instrumentation of oboe, English horn, and bassoon.
