About

Bluvenduo is the collaboration of GFA International Youth Competition finalists Joshua Shi (third place, 2016) and Sebastian Robles (first place, 2019), who, in their first year of study with Judicael Perroy at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, began to innovate together as a guitar duo. The two have since performed several concerts in the San Francisco Bay area as well as in Sebastian’s home province of Alberta, Canada. In May 2019, the duo recorded Dusan Bogdanovic’s Sonata Fantasia at the Guitar Salon International in Los Angeles, the video of which can be found on YouTube.

With a focus on musical discovery in terms of adding to the duo repertoire, the pair have yielded several original compositions and transcriptions, including three of Rachmaninoff’s piano preludes and Sebastian’s Bluven Suite, proving the duo to be a starkly unique musical force abounding in bold creativity.
