I’m Dr. Jacob De Hoyos, a pianist and the creator of Baking with the Classics, a concert series where I pair piano programs with original desserts I design to reflect the music. Every event is fully cohesive—each piece, dessert, and historical detail chosen to illuminate a shared theme and create a unified artistic experience.

Over the past few years, I’ve presented several Baking with the Classics house concerts in upstate New York, and they’ve become some of my most meaningful performances. These intimate gatherings bring audiences close to the music while they enjoy desserts crafted specifically for the program, and the response has been incredibly warm and enthusiastic.

Music

I’m drawn to music with strong character and atmosphere—works by the Versailles court composers, the elegance and wit of Haydn and Dussek, the expressive miniatures of York Bowen, the color-rich worlds of Debussy, and the rhythmic vitality of Gershwin. I like to build programs around a single narrative or idea, selecting pieces that speak to one another and create a cohesive arc. My goal is to offer performances that feel inviting and personal, helping listeners connect more deeply with the music.
