I’m Nicoletta Todesco, an Italian guitarist, singer, and composer based in New York.

My performances center around the tradition of singing while accompanying myself on classical guitar. I love the intimacy of the voice and guitar together — it allows me to move naturally between instrumental music, songs, and storytelling.

My programs weave together early music originally written for the lute, contemporary works, and my own compositions for voice and guitar. I enjoy creating concerts that feel personal and alive, where music from different centuries can sit side by side and speak to each other.

Alongside my solo work, I collaborate frequently with other musicians. I perform in a duo with Mexican flutist Laura Elena Gracia Guzmán and in the Clio Artist Project Trio with soprano Emily Donato and flutist Helen Park.

Music

My repertoire moves across several musical worlds. I love bringing early music written for the lute to the modern guitar, while also including contemporary repertoire and performing my own works for voice and guitar.

In many of my concerts I include songs that I sing and accompany myself on guitar — a practice that connects classical guitar with older musical traditions where instrumentalists were also storytellers.
