About

I've been a devoted teacher and performer of traditional Hindustani music on sitar for over twenty years. My musical journey began as a classical guitarist who discovered the rich beauty of raag music in college. I was lucky to have world-class guidance and soon began traveling to India to learn and perform. The study and practice of sitar has been the centerpiece of my life for many years and still is my primary modality as a teacher, performer and composer. I feel blessed to have had such amazing teachers and I carry on their tradition with my thriving sitar academy. I believe that the depth, imagination and majesty of traditional sitar music is an artistic gift for the benefit of all.

Music

The music I perform comes from the Hindustani classical tradition of North India. I've been lucky to study with some of India's greatest musicians - Ustad Aashish Khan (eldest son of Ali Akbar Khan), Roshan Bhartiya, Tushar Bhatia, and Shakir Khan.
