Our wonderful friends at the 92nd St. Y - which for almost 150 years has been deepening the cultural life of our great city - offered us an amazing concert that our beloved community devoured with a sold-out Night Out this week. Well, 92nd St. Y must love us right back — because they’re making with not one, but TWO amazing evenings for this next week, and so we look forward to joining them for a Nights Out double-header!

The first show is the brilliant string quartet from Britain - the Elias String Quartet. They’ve been hailed as a leading ensemble of the rising generation all over the world, and they’re in our town on March 3rd. And their program is a powerhouse: it starts with the 3rd String Quartet by the great contemporary British composer** Sally Beamish** in an NY premier. Then it’s on to Felix Mendelssohn’s oceanic 2nd String Quartet — one of his most powerful works. And the biggest guns are saved for last — Beethoven’s op. 131 String Quartet, often referred to as the greatest chamber work ever written. Schubert himself said of the work, "After this, what is left for us to write?”

Then, two days later on March 5th, we’re invited back to the 92nd St. Y for a Night Out with Pamela Frank - one of the most celebrated violinists in the world. She’s joined by the great Stephen Prutsman on the piano, for 6 Sonatas for Violin and Keyboard by the eternal master, J. S. Bach. Dazzling, intimate, staggering, modern, poignant, profound. I mean… It’s Bach.

Tickets for both concerts run $45, but we’ve got a stacks for more than half off — $20 each! But they likely won’t last, so make your move!

And have a great Night Out (or two… 😉)!
