To soften the blow of a socially-distant Halloween weekend, and to ease anxiety born of the looming election day, we're organizing a packed weekend of top flight musicians for a Halloween Weekend Groupmuse Minifestival! And we're so grateful that so many of our oldest and dearest Groupmuse comrades are showing up for it.
For our Saturday matinee performance, we've got the brilliant French-Malagsi pianist Yannick Rafalimanana alongside the internationally renowned cellist Tony Rymer on the docket. Yannick played at literally the first groupmuse there every was, and Tony played countless groupmuses in those early Boston days. They've both moved to Berlin, but this virtual moment means we can all be together again!
The centerpiece of the program is Ludwig Van Beethoven's Second Cello Sonata, paired with Gabriel Fauré's Romance and Manuel De Falla's Popular Songs.
The performance will be a Premiere of a video recording made specially for our community, and, angels that they are Tony and Yannick have generously donated the performance so that all money raised goes to the Groupmuse Foundation so we can continue doing our important work.
