Host

It's February, and with weather warming up, what better than live music with drinks and dinner at a darling restaurant in Alameda?

Right across the green bridge, on the corner of Park and Clement is the Park Street Tavern. This family-owned & operated restaurant serves a menu with fresh ingredients influenced by Greek and Italian traditions. This welcoming neighborhood bar will offer small bites to sharable plates of home-made pastas, fresh seafood, and aged steaks. Full bar with a wine and cocktail list, so come ready to party with us.

Music will begin at 7:00pm, so please arrive by 6:30pm to grab a table and order before music begins!

Join us under the blue tent structure for an outdoor evening of music by the Sierra Quartet. There will be heaters, but please dress with layers to be prepared for the mildly unpredictable Bay Area weather.

Please enjoy Park Tavern's food and drink offerings during the concert! Your ticket will support musicians directly. We hope you'll order something nice to support this amazing local business that is generously providing their outdoor seating for us

Clarification: Either proof of vaccination or negative test within 48 hours for this event!

What's the music?

We'll celebrate composers who left the old forms behind to write something brilliantly new.

In Break Away, Jessie Montgomery creates “a seamless dialogue between the written score and the whims of the quartet” by asking the group to improvise. Beethoven broke free from Classical norms in his masterful String Quartet Op. 59, No. 1, changing the history of the string quartet in the process.

Jessie Montgomery | Break Away
Ludwig van Beethoven | String Quartet in F Major, op. 59, no. 1, “Razumovsky”
