This is a Groupmuse Night Out

Explore the wider world of music outside Groupmuse with exclusive discounts to local concerts.

We're partnering up with Parlando for a Nights Out on December 3rd!

Parlando is a chamber orchestra based in New York City that brings intimate and accessible orchestral experiences to wider audiences. Founded by Ian Niederhoffer in 2019, Parlando provides the musical and historical context to prepare every audience member for the music they are about to hear. Through short introductions to each piece, the orchestra bridges the gap between audience and performer, creating an intimate, accessible orchestral experience. Every Parlando program has a theme and contains a blend of new, underrepresented and standard works.

On the program for this evening, we have Melodrama. The program will explore "what is the relationship between music and the theatre? From folk theatre to Shakespeare to the very conventions of the concert hall, Parlando will explore what exactly makes a piece of music theatrical. Featuring violinist Geneva Lewis performing Graal Théâtre, Kaija Saariaho’s enchanting violin concerto, the concert also includes Darius Milhaud’s Charlie Chaplain-esque Le Bœuf sur le toit, and Erich Korngold’s delightful Much Ado about Nothing Suite."

Tickets to this concert typically sell for an average of $25, but we've got them for $10 for our Groupmuse community (and only $1 for Supermusers!)

Groupmuse ticket buyers are instructed to pick up their tickets at the Merkin Hall Will Call immediately before the performance. Groups wishing to sit together should purchase tickets under a single reservation as seating will be assigned.

What's the music?
