If Ian Scarfe and a member of the Del Sol String Quartet are fans of Sam Reider then he must be very special and he is. Not only is Sam Reider a brilliant composer he is also a master of the accordion and the piano. This concert features both instruments with lively and fun commentary in a Cole Valley music salon environment. No better way to start the New Year. Check out his performance links by clicking on his name below. Guests should arrive between 7 - 7:30 with the concert beginning at 7:30pm. A reception will follow.

Sam Reider Accordion And Piano

American Panorama is a musical portrait of the connections between sounds, places, and traditions in the American landscape. Award-winning accordionist, pianist and composer Sam Reider draws on his crossover career in jazz, folk and classical music, performing an eclectic program that includes works by jazz pioneer Duke Ellington, blues guitarist Leadbelly, and Appalachian old-time musicians, alongside Reider's own original music. Reider's original compositions for the piano range from a quiet meditation on a High Sierra "Mirror Lake," to the euphoric, Keith Jarrett-inspired etude "Petrichor," named for the fresh smell of the earth after a first rain. Alternatively pensive, bluesy, cinematic, and joyful, Reider's playing is "destined to spark your creativity, imagination and wanderlust for the natural world.” (Adrian Spinelli, San Francisco Chronicle)
