Centuries of Sound returns with the sixth concert of its 2022-2023 season!

We welcome you back to the beautiful ballroom of the historic Century Club of California for an elegant and casual Groupmuse experience.

This concert will feature the Two Roads Trio, featuring two guest artists joining us from Massachusetts!

Soprano Jamie-Rose Guarrine is on the faculty of the University of Massachusetts and is an alumna of the SF Opera's Merola program. Her husband, cellist Karl Knapp, teaches at Amherst College and leads the cello-rock band "1200 Horsehairs".

The program will celebrate songs settings of the poetry of Emily Dickinson, as well as music by Bernstein, Amy Beach, and others.

A special guest will be joining us, all the way from her home in Zurich, Switzerland! Lux Brahn is a clarinetist who has performed around the world, including locally with the Zurich Beethoven Trio. Ms. Brahn will join the ensemble for Schubert’s late work, “The Shepherd on the Rock”.

As always, plan to arrive a bit early as the music will start right around 2:00pm.
As always, no need to BYOB, as our hosts at the Century Club will provide drinks at intermission!
