I'm thrilled to welcome Austrian pianist Benjamin Dioszegi for an evening of Mozart and Schumann, including Mozart at his sunniest in the D major sonata and Schumann at his most volatile in Kreisleriana.

After Dioszegi's solo piano program, there will be a short program of classical solo guitar presented by Andras Moldovan, including works by Bach and Mozart.

Doors at 7pm and music starting around 7:30pm.

What's the music?

Benjamin Dioszegi’s program:

W.A. Mozart: Sonata in D-major KV 576

R. Schumann: Kreisleriana, Op. 16

Andras Moldovan’s program:

J.S. Bach: Prelude BWV 846 Arr. for Guitar
Prelude BWV 985 Arr. for Guitar
Andante Organ Sonata no 4 Arr. for Guitar
W. A. Mozart: Piano Sonata K 330 Andante Transcribed by F. Tárrega

Where does this music come from?

While creating my recital program for the 2026 season, I intended to commemorate the anniversaries of W.A. Mozart and R. Schumann. The choice of repertoire is designed in such a way that the works link together tonally and offer a rich display of character at the same time. Andras Moldovan is completing the program with guitar transcriptions of J.S. Bach's works. Bach’s music was a great source of inspiration for Mozart and for Schumann as well, as they deeply admired and studied his music carefully.
