This is a groupmuse

A live concert in a living room, backyard, or another intimate space. They're casual and friendly, hosted by community members.

Host

Join us for our first Groupmuse evening at Playground Brooklyn — a casual house-party-style concert with live music, drinks, light snacks, and time to connect.
On Thursday, June 4 at 6:30 PM, we’ll gather in our Gowanus space for an intimate performance by professional musicians Helen Park, flute, and Nicoletta Todesco, guitar. The evening will include social time, drinks and snacks, and a beautiful live concert in a relaxed community setting.
The reservation fee is $5, with a suggested donation of $20+ at the event to support the musicians. This is a great opportunity to enjoy high-quality live music up close while helping make sure professional artists are fairly compensated.
Members, friends, family, and the public are all welcome.

Where does this music come from?

Korean flutist Helen Park and Italian guitarist Nicoletta Todesco.

The program brings together classical works rooted in folk traditions, drawing on dances and musical languages from different regions of the world. Through this repertoire, the duo explores a shared human impulse toward rhythm, storytelling, and cultural memory.

The evening will also feature a new work by composer P. Brent Register, written especially for this duo and recently premiered in Brooklyn.

Helen Park and Nicoletta Todesco met at Yale and have continued collaborating ever since. They are delighted to share the music they love in intimate and alternative settings in NYC.

There will be a short intermission.
