The Party Scene brings together the delightfully offbeat acoustic quartet The Hands Free and the wonderfully whimsical Dance Heginbotham for a music-and-dance extravaganza inspired by The Nutcracker and the joyful chaos of a rowdy office holiday party. Expect a playful mashup of live music, inventive choreography, and festive mischief, with a lightly immersive, family-friendly atmosphere that invites you into the party rather than simply watching from the sidelines.

Featuring Nathan Koci on accordion, Christina Courtin on violin, James Moore on guitar and banjo, and Eleonore Oppenheim on bass, alongside student performers from Montclair State University, this is chamber music with a decidedly unconventional spirit. And yes, festive seasonal sweaters are enthusiastically encouraged. Join us in Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center on Saturday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. Through Groupmuse Nights Out, tickets are just $20 (regularly $30)—so you can save a little while getting into the holiday spirit early. 🎻🪩
