This is a groupmuse

A live concert in a living room, backyard, or another intimate space. They're casual and friendly, hosted by community members.

EDIT: Full, but feel free to message me or add yourself to the wait list.

This will be the third groupmuse i've hosted - and in similar style I will be cooking you something to eat prior to the ladies starting to play. Setting the mood for the start of Valentine's Day weekend, Amaranth will have some love songs in the set list.

I recently read an article posted in November in the NY Times about language and love (https://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/13/fashion/modern-love-grappling-with-the-language-of-love.html?_r=0) and it made me think that good music can transcend language barriers, and can accurately articulate what the heart feels when one cannot find the correct words - whether those words are to express love, or sadness at the lack of it. It just so happened to coincide with a desire to host a groupmuse, and with the date so close to Valentine's, the theme was born.

Feel free (but not obligated!) to bring something to share if you are so inclined. BYOB. Dress casual. Please bring at least a $10 cash money donation for the musicians, or you can donate through the app!

Rough Schedule:
7:00 to 8:00 - Eat and Mingle
8:00 to 8:25 - Set 1
8:25 to 8:40 - Intermission
8:40 to 9:05 - Set 2
9:05 to 9:15 - Q&A
9:15 on (or until my housemates kick us out) - Drink and Be Merry

Getting in the Building
Doorbell is a white button on the inside of the door frame. Ring twice in case we don't hear you!

Transportation & Parking
There's usually plenty of street parking (metered, ends after 6 I believe but you should double check) and there's some street parking around the block. You shouldn't be driving though because you'll probably be drinking, right? Closest BART is 16th and Mission.

A Final Note
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or post-event feedback, so I can make future groupmuse events more awesome!

What's the music?

Bela Bartok String - Quartet No. 4

Claude Debussy - select movements from String Quartet
