Host
Come enjoy an evening of music in a 106 year-old Craftsman home located in the historic neighborhood of Upper Queen Anne.
What's the music?
During the Romantic period and early twentieth-century, art songs were written to be performed at house concerts and enjoyed up close.
LOVE, LUST, AND CAUTIONARY TALES
Beloved songs by Gabriel Faure', Franz Schubert, Hugo Wolf, and more,
and rarities by Alfredo Casella (a contemporary of Respighi), Giorgio Federico Ghedini, Bruno Maderna, and Arnold Schoenberg (very fun Cabaret Songs).
Satire, love sought-after and spurned, nature as simile, a donkey who pretends to be a lion to get elected president, and other surprises!
Poetic texts in English, French, German, and Italian with translations provided.
Experience award-winning soprano Stacey Mastrian and pianist Josh Archibald-Seiffer in the perfect environment -- at home!
