I am a first time groupmuse host and am very excited to present Elbert Tsai and the Tenth Avenue Players who will play for us Mozart's sublime and masterful Divertimento in E-flat major K. 563, as a well as surprise us with two shorter, more modern trios.
Elbert Tsai, violinist:
Elbert Tsai leads a multifaceted career as virtuoso violinist and sought-after pedagogue. His recitals, which often celebrate the short showpieces and gems of the instrument’s 450-year musical history, have been featured recently at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Three Rivers Performing Arts Institute, YES Foundation for the Arts, Throckmorton Theatre, Claremont College, Le Petit Trianon Theatre, and Colburn School for the Performing Arts. Previously as an orchestral violinist, Elbert was a member of the San Francisco Ballet orchestra and San Francisco Symphony, touring with the symphony domestically and to Europe and Asia. Elbert has taught violin and chamber music at Center Stage Strings, the Luzerne Music Center, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, SFCM Pre-College Division, and the Crowden School. He holds degrees from University of Southern California, Rice University, and Oberlin College. For more information, please visit www.elberttsai.com.

Thank you everyone for attending the concert last night. The Q&A about the music and the musicians' instruments was lovely. And a huge Thank You & Brava to the new Tenth Avenue Players! The Mozart Divertimento was so exquisite, the Weinberg movement beautiful, the teaser for a new commissioned piece intriguing – we hope to hear soon more from you and your musicianship & artistry!
