This past Sunday, Groupmusers from around New York gathered in the Brooklyn Museum to share the treasures of Georgia O'Keefe and Franz Schubert, as told by our friends at the Orchestra of St. Luke's. And this coming Sunday, we've got more pleasures of the spirit as the OSL moves forward with their summer Schubert Festival. Only this time, they're going up the Hudson River Valley to share their gifts with the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts - a summertime dream of music, lush greenery, and notably clean air. And - you guessed it - Caramoor wants Groupmuse to come along.

The OSL will be performing Schubert's massive and delightful Octet, and they'll be joined by the New Yorker's Adam Gopnik - an avowed Schubert super-fan - as he sheds his own light on what these powerful sounds mean.

Tickets are typically $45, but, because it's Groupmuse, and fortune smiles upon us, we're getting a limited stack for $20! You can get to Caramoor on the Metro-North up to Katonah, and then a special Caramoor shuttle will pick you up and take you the last few miles.

If you've never been to Caramoor before, you're in for an unimaginable treat and we at extremely delighted and proud to make the introduction.

"This innovative and touching program presents the music of Schubert’s Octet in dialogue with one of New York’s most distinctive literary voices, Adam Gopnik, who happens to be a great fan of Schubert. In between movements of the exhilarating Octet, Gopnik will read an original narrative about the intersection of music and life. The Octet is a signature piece for St. Luke’s and this premiere presentation of Gopnik’s original material will open new doors of musical meaning for all of us."
