Welcome to Groupmuse in Toronto! Elena, Aidan and Rebecca founded Toronto's first Groupmuse Community Circle. What that means is we're committed to building communities in Toronto around great chamber music, and to supporting local musicians through house concerts. We identify as community builders, activists, and one of us, a classical musician. As soon as we read about the concept, we knew Groupmuse was a movement we'd skillfully and spiritually devote to and bring to Toronto.
Aidan is excited to host the second Toronto Groupmuse event, with musical guests TBA. Please join us for a joyful house concert in a cozy loft nestled in a garden behind an old Victorian in The Annex. The concert starts at 7:30pm and ends by 9pm.
Aidan has room for 30 people, including friends and community members, so there are limited spots available!
What’s a groupmuse?
Groupmuses are something in between classical music concerts and house parties, hosted at someone’s home. They are a chance to spend quality time with old and new friends and to lose yourself in a profound artistic experience.
What do I bring?
Nothing this time! Beer/wine/soft drinks on us. Please dress casually and bring at least C$10 to pay the musicians at the event. :)
What's the music?
Bach D Minor Partita:
1. Allemande
2. Corrente
3. Sarabande
4. Gigue
5. Chaconne
Kurtag: Selections from Signs Games and Messages for solo violin
