Amidst all of the talk of "collusion" and "hacking" and "tampering" and "the New Cold War", it's easy to get swept up in a nationalistic frenzy -- thinking of the "enemy" as over there, menacing our Shining City on a Hill from across the Bering Strait. But the rather frightening geopolitics of the current moment at times obscure an unbelievably rich and glorious culture of art and expression that must be celebrated, as a testament to our common humanity -- regardless of lines on a map.

That's why we're incredibly grateful that the Boston Artists Ensemble - a group of the finest musicians in the Boston area who, for over three decades, have deepened the cultural landscape of this great city - is inviting Groupmuse along for their season premier, entitled "From Russia with Love".

Three great masterworks, spanning over a century, all from a fellow great power, with whose fate our nation has been for many years so deeply intertwined - at times as desperate allies, and at times as bitter rivals.

Schnittke, Shostakovich, and Tchaikosky make for a program with every color of the emotional rainbow and we hope you'll make it out.

The BAE is offering the program twice -
Friday night at the beautiful and historic Hamilton Hall in Salem
and
Sunday afternoon at St. Paul's Church in Brookline.

At the door, tickets are $30, but because fortune smiles upon Groupmuse, we'll get them for $15.
