The inter-Holiday period is a very rich one for the arts - caroling, creative and devastatingly hideous sweaters, and, of course, Handel’s Messiah, with it’s world-famous Hallelujah Chorus.

Well we here at Groupmuse would be totally remiss in our duty to bring all of you the life-affirming soul-nourshing great music experiences we can muster if we didn’t make with a Messiah Night Out this Holiday Season — and thanks to our wonderful friends at The Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale, we can do just that!

The PBO, as it's know by its friends, is recognized as one of the leading historically-informed ensembles in the world and they happen to make their home right in the Bay Area. By historically-informed, we mean that part of their mission is to create a musical experience that sounds true to the time in which a piece was written - that means no steel strings, no modern pianos, etc.

And so, on December 8th at 7pm, we’ll gather in San Francisco’s legendary Herbst Theatre to have our minds collectively, and in a historically-informed way, blown by George Frideric Handel and his holy choral mega-masterpiece Messiah.

Tickets average around $40, but because it’s Groupmuse and we’ve got some kind of magic, you can get yours for $20 (and $15 for supermusers) - but supplies are limited, so jump on it!
