The Holidays are of course a time for celebration and revelry but they’re also an important opportunity for reflection, inward-space, and inner stillness as we ready for a New Year, new beginnings, and the next chapter.
So we here at Groupmuse are honored to offer you a sacred and meditative Night Out at one of the holiest places in NYC - NOLITA's 200 year old architectural wonder, St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral.
On Friday December 29th at 8pm, we’ll gather to hear ARTEK - one of the leading early music ensembles in the nation - perform Johann Rosenmueller’s 350 year old masterwork, Christmas Vespers. Rosenmueller is an unjustly uncelebrated genius of the Baroque era and his Christmas Vespers is him at the height of his powers, featuring 8 singers, 6 historical string players, 6 historical wind players, and 3 basso continuo players.
Tickets are typically $40 or more, but because our wonderful friends at ARTEK want Groupmuse to join in this communion, we’ve got a limited stack available for $20 (and $15 for supermusers) — more than half off, but they won’t last so make haste!
