The human voice is the first instrument. Not only does it predate the most basic drum,* we all practice it incessantly in the first days of our lives as we cry and wail for whence we came.† And when a group of these instruments resonate together, it can have the most profound and ethereal effect.

Our next Night Out is a celebration of the human voice in its purest from - unaccompanied by anything else. The Lorelei Ensemble is a vocal ensemble of 9 women, all possessed of some of the most beautiful voices of their generation - and they’ve put together IMPERMANENCE/RECONSTRUCTED - a program that spans literally 7 centuries - from gems of the late medieval era to works by living minds from around the world. It’ll be an evening that’ll stir your depths and dewy up your eyes.

It’s all brought to us by the 5 Borough Music Festival - a wonderful organization now eleven years into its mission to bring remarkable performances all around the city - and these lovely folks want our community at the Lorelei concert so very much they’ve made a stack of cheap tickets available to us: $20 (and $15 for supermusers).

The show’s going down on Friday, February 9, 7:30 PM at the Church of St. Luke in the Fields — but our stack of tickets is quite limited, so make haste!

Have a great Night Out!
