Last month, we introduced our community to the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and its charismatic leader Ben Zander -- one of the world's most inspiring advocates for classical music and its mystical power. The evening was a sold-out smash, with many of you reporting back that it was among the best musical experiences you've ever had.

Well we've got good news: The BPO loves us back. And they want us back, too: On April 20th, we'll gather in the legendary landmark, Symphony Hall, for a big ol' Night Out with the BPO. They'll be joined by Chorus Pro Musica, one of the great choruses in New England, for a full performance of Edward Elgar's monumental masterpiece, his oratorio The Dream of Gerontius.

The work - a story of one man's ascent to the hereafter, based on a poem by John Henry Newman - overflows with the drama, the beauty, and the lushness of the Late Romantic, and is often regarded as among the greatest work of music England ever produced (that side of the Beatles of course...)

Over a hundred voices and instruments will unite their sounds to create something huge and humbling. Benjamin Zander will lead the orchestra, and celebrated vocalists Madeleine Shaw, Robert Murray, and Derek Welton will shine as soloists.

What's more: if you show up at 6.45pm, you'll hear one of Zander's famously electrifying disquisitions on the work of music beforehand, so as to be prepared for the forthcoming hurricane of emotion and passion.

The average price for a ticket to such majesty and grandeur is $54 -- but the BPO loves its 'musers, so you'll get yours for only $20! But these sold out last time, so don't hesitate!
