In the many Nights Out and Massivemuses we can lay claim to, we’ve featured Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and so many more leading lights of European music culture. But one mighty name has never graced our e-marquees: That of late romantic/early modernist miracle Gustav Mahler. Mahler does more than write more than music — he builds towering monuments to human expression, depth, fear, and beauty, using every instrument known to him (and occasionally objects that were not formerly instruments) -- soundscapes of the grandest possible architecture that take us deep within to explore the enormity of the inner world.

Anyways, Mahler’s great, you’ll love him.

And, thanks to our WONDERFUL friends at Lincoln Center, we’ve finally got an chance to cultivate that love with two Mahler offerings coming up in the next week.

Simon Rattle, arguably the most celebrated conductor in the world, is coming through town in his first NYC appearance as music director of the London Symphony Orchestra and the lot of them will be unleashing:

Mahler’s mammoth Song of the Earth - Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm

Mahler’s unfinished 10th Symphony - Monday Monday, May 7, 2018 at 8:00 pm.

Tickets to each are $65 or more, but Lincoln Center is seriously good people — so we’ve got a stack for $25 each — way more than 50% off! But mark my words, these will fly and supplies are limited, so move on them now!

And have an amazing Night Out!

What's the music?

Sir Simon Rattle

Gustav Mahler -- Symphony No. 10 (completed by Deryck Cooke)
