As the calendar arts season is winding down, Groupmuse DC is really revving up — as you all hopefully know, our first DC Massivemuse is this Friday, but the very next day, we’ve got a Night Out offering that we’re taking to the next level.

The celebrated American Pops Orchestra has put together an evening of music from one of the true masters of the American Song Book - Cole Porter - and to make these 80 year old love tunes really sing, they’ve pair a selection with some of the funniest online personals the era of internet dating has yielded. Featuring pop star (in her orchestral debut) Betty Who and Tony-nominated broadway icon Liz Callaway, it’ll be an evening of laughter, mischief, and such great music.

But a lot of you have asked that we beef up the outing aspect of a Night Out, so our wonderful new DC Community Manager, Will, has planned a field trip out of it!

The concert is at 8pm at the Mead Center, but at 2.30pm, all who wish to join will meet up in a group at the Hirshhorn Museum - which is less than a mile away. We’ll explore the museum for a couple hours, and then have a happy hour from 4.30 to 5.30 in the lobby-bar of the Hirshhorn.

Then we’ll all break for dinner, and meet back up at the Mead Center for some music and laughter. Tickets to the concert alone cost on average $35 or more, but because this here’s Groupmuse, you’ll get this whole afternoon and evening of art, joy, and community for $20!

Of course, if you wish only to attend the concert, that is more than alright, but we hope some of you make it out to the museum too! :)

Have a great Night Out!
