Hi all! So excited to be playing at the residence of harpist Violetta Norrie and saxophonist/composer Matt Burkett. We've got a set of stunning music featuring the harp and viola, both instruments that really came into vogue in Great Britain in the early 20th century for myriad reasons, not least of which that most prominent composers of the era were violists!
What's the music?
Rebecca Clarke - Passacaglia on an Old English Tune
Korngold - Arias from "Die tote Stadt"
Ralph Vaughan Williams - Suite for Viola (Group 1)
Benjamin Britten - Suite for Harp
Frank Bridge - Pensiero & Allegro appassionato
Faure - Songs
and a familiar Debussy
