For everything that Groupmuse is, one of the ways it can be understood is as a celebration of space — bringing together seekers to share profound experiences in the always singular homes and halls that bedizen a city’s culture-scape. Every city has its treasures, but our nation’s Capital truly has a spoil of riches. Among them are, of course, the innumerable splendid embassies that represent the abundance and diversity of our world.
This Saturday, thanks to our wonderful friends at The Washington Opera Society, we’ll be gathering for a Groupmuse Night Out in the glorious Ballroom of La Maison Française at the Embassy of France to celebrate one of the sweetest fruits of French culture — Georges Bizet’s epochal opera Carmen.
Some of the top singers of our day will be backed by a full orchestra for a concert performance of the lush operatic masterwork.
There will be a cash bar and free hors d'oeuvres will be served.
Tickets typically range from $35 to $75, but because we’re Groupmuse after all, we’ve got a limited stack for $25 -- but they likely won’t last, so move if you want in!
Doors are 5.30pm, bar opens at 6pm and the music starts at 7pm.
