Host

I'm very excited to host my 4th Groupmuse featuring pianist Javor Bracic playing keyboard sonatas composed by the amazing Joseph Haydn when he blew away all of London in the 1780s & in the 1790s after returning to Vienna. These are master works--infectious, clever, witty, compelling, brilliant & so beautifully balanced--epitomizing the best of the Classical Period.

Javor Bracic was born in Zagreb, Croatia, formerly part of the Hapsburg Monarchy that included Vienna and Esterhazy where Haydn spent most of his life. Javor earned his Bachelor’s and his first Master’s Degrees at the University of Mozarteum Salzburg, which may be why his playing seems to channel the magic of Haydn's spirit. He received another Master’s Degree & a Professional Studies Diploma under full scholarship at Mannes College The New School for Music in New York, & he was awarded the Graduate Center Fellowship to pursue a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the City University of New York, in the class of Ursula Oppens, Richard Goode, and Norman Carey. He is now a busy performer in major venues from 92nd St Y to Carnegie Hall & has performed and taught in music festivals throughout the world. For more info about Javor, check out his web site: http://www.javorbracic.com.

Come join us at 7:30pm on Thursday, December 6th in my Wash Hts apt for an evening enjoying wonderful music with friends & neighbors and meet other New Yorkers who have discovered the fun of Groupmuse, the Salon of the 21st Century.
