With the conveniently relevant exception of birdsong, music is really quite unlike anything in the natural world. It exists in its own realm of experience -- in reference to nothing but itself. That said, we at Groupmuse profoundly believe in the potential of music to be a singularly powerful support to bring people together in a way that transcends partisanship and even language itself so that we may commune on our most fundamental levels and build the community connections we'll need to weather the substantial challenges this century will bring.

And challenges this century don't get more substantial than the fight for the future of the Earth, our mother. And that is why we are so grateful that the brilliant folks at the world class Chorus Pro Musica have invited us for the world premier of Audubon: A Multimedia Oratorio by James Kallembach for a Groupmuse Night Out.

Presented in collaboration with Mass Audubon -- the country's oldest Audubon society that's been doing the hard work of protecting our beautiful state's natural abundance for well over a century -- the evening features brilliant new music for voices and orchestra alongside video-graphic images, all set to the words of John James Audubon -- arguably the most important naturalist in American history -- as he describes the humbling vastness, grandeur, and glory of this continent's naturescape. Taken in the context of our present moment, these words are a call to action. Backed by the power of great music, it's a call that can't be ignored.

What's more: the evening starts with a short talk by Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Richard Rhodes.

Tickets typically average $50, but this is Groupmuse after all, and Chorus Pro Musica wants us there -- so we've got a hugely discounted stack for $15.

We can't wait to share this Night Out with you.
