The horn isn’t necessarily thought of as a chamber instrument, but its soft, pure, edgeless tone, when wielded in able hands, manifests such intimacy, such human nuance. And so, for one of the Aston Magna Festival's final concerts for this season, they’re celebrating that sweet sound at the glorious Emmanuel Church in Boston - right on Newbury Street.

Beethoven’s Opus 17 Sonata for Piano and Horn, Schubert’s epic “Auf dem Strom”, for piano voice and horn and Schubert's titanic masterwork, “Die schöne Müllerin”, a song cycle for voice and piano, will make for an evening of the truest, deepest feelings.

We'll have the pleasure Todd Williams on the natural horn - the historical predecessor to the modern french horn, Joshua Rifkin on fortepiano - the historical predecessor to the modern piano, and Frank Kelley, a tenor who plays the same instrument that's been played for millennia.

Tickets are typically $40 but we’ve got a discount for $20 - half off! The stack’s limited though, so make your move!

And have a great Night Out!
