About

Hi, I'm Jennifer! I'm a violinist from Queens, NY. I'm pursuing doctoral performance studies at Stony Brook, from which I also received my master's, as a student of Arnaud Sussmann. My undergrad was at Yale in English and creative writing. I'm the recipient of full-scholarship fellowships from the Tanglewood Music Center, Lucerne Festival Academy, Kneisel Hall, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and I received various awards for my playing while an undergraduate at Yale. I've managed to meld my interests as a reviewer of classical and contemporary music concerts—most notably as the winner of the Rubin Institute Prize, the nation's top prize in music criticism.

Most notably, I am 50 percent of the violin-piano duo Double Standard, which I founded with my style icon and fabulous pianist friend Laura Davey. Looking forward to playing for you soon!

Music

Most of my experience is with 19th-21st century solo and chamber music. I'm open to anything aboveground and nonflammable.

I've got these on hand:
Adams: Road Movies
Bach: Sonata No. 2
Benjamin: Three Miniatures
Brahms: Sonatas 1, 2, 3
Bruch: Scottish Fantasy
Beethoven: Sonata No. 6
Ives: Sonata No. 2
Janacek: Sonata
Prokofiev: Solo Sonata
Miller: For Mira
Ysaye: Sonata No. 4
etc. etc. etc.!
