About

Violist Jeremy Kienbaum, first prizewinner in the 2015 Enkor International Chamber Music Competition and the 2013 National Federation of Music Clubs Student/Collegiate Competition, is an enthusiastic chamber musician, educator, and soloist. He has performed in Carnegie, David Geffen (Avery Fisher), and Alice Tully Halls, and has been featured on Wisconsin Public Radio and WORT radio in Madison, WI and Classical KING radio in Seattle, WA.

As a chamber musician, he has worked with inspiring mentors such as Sylvia Rosenberg, Ida Kavafian, and Fred Sherry, as well as members of the Juilliard, Pro Arte, Shanghai, and Jupiter Quartets. Additionally, he has performed in master classes for Nobuko Imai, Hank Dutt, and Lawrence Dutton, among others prominent violists.

Mr. Kienbaum teaches for Discover Melody and the After-School Arts Program at the Nord Anglia International School in New York. He was a Morse Teaching Fellow and a Music Advancement Program Fellow at Juilliard, and he previously taught at Opportunity Music Project and for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras.

Originally from Wisconsin, Mr. Kienbaum graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he studied with David Perry and Sally Chisholm, and received his Masters of Music from The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Samuel Rhodes.
